Crazy or What?
Launching a Business
in the Age of COVID
Written by Denise Martin | Posted on October 21 2020
My family thinks I'm crazy. My friends range from supportive to unusually quiet. Why would anyone want to start business during a pandemic?
Well, the short answer is, "Because I want to!" It may be years before there's a vaccine. And meanwhile there are all these ideas swirling around my brain. So I decided to cautiously proceed believing, now more than ever, that we all need to express ourselves. To be creative. To de-stress.
And that's where sewing and quilting come in. I don't know about you, but when I turn on my sewing machine and put on that quarter inch foot, I enter a different world. Hours can go by in a whirl of color and texture and shape. It's intoxicating.
Sharing such a heady trip is what Seamless is all about. And sharing my journey starting a business is what this blog is all about.
So let's get started. I've been at this for a few months, but I'll catch you up. We'll talk about sewing, quilting...and business.
And all the while cutting and sewing, cutting and sewing...and quilting.
Whew! That's enough for now. I'll meet you at the next post.

Round I
- Getting the idea for a new business
- Sussing out the market for that idea
- Building a business plan
- Taking on the dreaded financials
- Finding a location (or opting for online)
- Making the "go/no-go" decision
And all the while cutting and sewing, cutting and sewing...and quilting.
Whew! That's enough for now. I'll meet you at the next post.
