Beginning Bag Making
Get off to a confident start with our comprehensive beginning course in making bags.
Everyday Essentials by Noodlehead will be our guiding text. Patterns include the Wool & Wax Tote, a curved top Petal Pouch and a wallet. The course will focus on the tote and the zippered pouch But you may breeze through those and complete (or at least start) the wallet.
The goal of this class is to learn the beginning skills for making a bag.
- Learn to use your zipper foot on your machine to install a zipper.
- Learn how to use interfacing, to top-stitch, to achieve straight and matched up seams, crisp edges
as well as how to have clean and turned edges on the interior of the bag.
Prerequisite: Basic sewing skills, ability to sew a straight line
Classes: 4 classes of 2 hours each
Supplies: List sent via email prior to class. Basic notions.
Suggested Follow-up: Other bag-making classes, Camp Shirt
