Introduction to English Paper Piecing
Settle into some slow stitching with this introduction to English Paper Piecing. Together we will explore the many options for this hand stitching piecing method and help you discover what feels best for you. We will create 2 Hexagon Flower motifs and attach them to a background fabric. Once you learn these basics the sky’s the limit.
In this class you will learn:

Learn 2 different ways to knot your thread.

Learn about the different options for making or buying Pieces for a project. and use 2 different types of Paper pieces; paper and iron-on fusible

Explore different basting methods including glue basting and thread basting

Learn and practice the whipstitch for piecing together a hexagon flower motif

Learn and practice the applique stitch to attach the motif to the background fabric.

Along the way we will explore the ways that EPP brings mindfulness and magic to our stitching practices and how to trouble shoot when things go wonky.

Supplies: The class includes a small starter kit for English Paper Piecing including, needles, thread and 2 small sets of paper hexagon squares. The supply list for all other required supplies will be sent upon registration prior to class via email from info@SeamlessSewingArts.com
