Ready to level up your quilting skills? This workshop focuses entirely on the two most important foundations of quilting and bagmaking: cutting pieces properly and sewing accurate seam allowances. You’ll learn how to cut fabric safely, accurately, and efficiently using a rotary cutter, mat, and ruler. Then we’ll dive into seam allowance mastery—how to set up your machine, check your ¼” seam, and troubleshoot when things don’t line up. By the end of class, you’ll be sewing more precisely and with greater confidence, setting yourself up for success in every future quilt project.

What You’ll Learn:

• Rotary cutting basics: safety tips, hand placement, ruler alignment, and cutting strips/squares/triangles with accuracy.
• How to manage fabric grain, folds, and selvages when cutting.
• Checking and adjusting your seam allowance (why a “scant ¼ inch” matters).
• Tools and tricks for consistency (seam guides, tape, specialty feet).
• Sewing practice units  to put accuracy into action.
